The Northern-Ireland anime convention Tomo-Dachi have issued a press release to say that this years guest of honour Mike McFarland (English language dub director and voice actor) will be joined by Stuart Claw, Hugh David, Sonia Leong and Emma Vieceli.
The convention will run at run at The University Of Ulster's Magee campus from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th August 2007.
Pre-registration doesn't close until 30th July but accommodation booking closes on the 20th July, so book now if you haven't

TOMO-DACHI ANNOUNCES MORE GUESTS AS THE CLOSING OF PRE-REGISTRATIONS DRAWS NEAR
JULY 16th 2007. Londonderry, Northern Ireland. With little more than a month to go before the big event, 2007 is shaping up to host the best Tomo-Dachi yet, with a new guest announcements, revealing some of what to look forward to and a friendly reminder about the approaching closing of pre-registrations.
New Guest Announcements
Stuart Claw, Hugh David, Sonia Leong and Emma Vieceli. Tomo-Dachi is proud to add new guests to our already exciting line-up.
Stuart Claw, television personality and co-host of the Anime Network UK (alongside other Tomo-Dachi 2007 guest Emma Vieceli) will be making an appearance, hosting various events and panels. Joining him will be ADV UK's Hugh David, UK coordinator for ADV Films, one of the biggest anime publishers in the market.
Coming back to us again this year will be talented artists Sonia Leong and Emma Vieceli from Sweatdrop Studios. Boasting a wide range of talented UK artists, Sweatdrop is a UK based comics publisher creating original content in various anime influenced styles.
Emma and Sonia will be giving out tips to budding young artists and giving some expert advice in our Artist's Gallery, in addition to judging the Tomo-Dachi 2007 Art Contest. These new guests shall also be joining already announced Guest of Honour, Mike McFarland.
Mike has worked as ADR director on series' including Fullmetal Alchemist, Trinity Blood and DragonBall Z for FUNimation Entertainment, as well as lending his voice to characters in DragonBall Z (Master Roshi), Fruits Basket (Ritsu Sohma), Fullmetal Alchemist (Jean Havoc) and countless others. Mike also worked in a fairly unique role as the Music Director on BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad.
A Taste of the Events:
Friday evening is the kick off for Tomo-Dachi 2007- join us as we celebrate in true style, with the chill out party taking place in our specially arranged bar and entertainment area. With multiple video console setups, the bar ready to take your order, tournaments on the projector, opening ceremonies and entertainment provided by our Guest of Honour Mike McFarland, this is a great way to start to weekend.
On Saturday night, video gamers will be well catered for: after the timetabled events the gaming area will be opened for an all-nighter gaming session. (Over 18's only for this particular event!)
On the day on Saturday and Sunday we have Anime screenings, artist alley hosted by our guests from Sweatdrop. Panels, special events, a packed dealers hall and Cosplay events to top it all off! This year Tomo-Dachi will have something for everyone.

2 day entry - £20
3 day entry - £30
En-suite accommodation - £25 per night

Some Stuart Claw Factoids!
Stuart, a former T4 Sci Fi expert/presenter is currently known for being one of the presenters, co-writers, forum mods and behind the scenes blog writer on the Anime Network UK.
Stuart also has been responsible for producing online radio for several years and currently owns and runs Destiny Talk Radio Network. Stuart was one of the key figures in creating live radio from The London Expo and has since moved on to be their live stage presenter.
Stuart is making his first UK con appearance as a guest at this event!
About Tomo-Dachi and DAMA:
DAMA was founded in 2004 to bring anime and Manga to the North-West of Ireland, but has managed to appeal much further in its three-year lifespan. 2005 marked the first Tomo-Dachi convention, which surpassed all expectations for both the staff and attendees. TD06 was the largest anime event in Ireland's history, with three days of events and guests from the US and UK in attendance. TD07 promises to be even bigger. I'm not sure what the hold-up is... maybe they have re-thought their stance on how this is going to actually make the company any money. Or perhaps their lawyers pointed out the liability of providing agents a platform to stick their feet in their mouth. Whatever it is, it's hardly something I'd claim as being "Well done".
